Christmas and Boxing Day..

Had the best Christmas and Boxing Day I had in years!! Went to my uncle's place for Christmas dinner and they had quite a meal prepared.. There were turkey, ham, roasted chicken, salami.. Anything, you name it.. But I have no picture to share though, cause I was busy socializing (yes, socializing with my cousins.. is that a problem for you?) and I was also busy enjoying the meal..

So rather than bore you with my words, as you know I'm well capable of, I shall talk about my next outing - Boxing Day at Solaris..

Meet up with the good old 5s7-ians and had Korean dinner with them and after that headed to Coffee Bean to do more catch up with them.. We also had gift exchange..

Well, I'll stop the long boring explanation and show you some other more interesting stuff..

As I mentioned, we had a "gift exchange session".. I got this pretty little glowing ball.. I won't be showing you what gifts everyone got for obvious reasons, but I'll surely show u the more interesting ones..

This person got the gift I prepared.. Its a towel.. Since she is covering her face, I shall not name her here.. haha

This is the only guy that got a doll for his gift.. and as you can see, I think he likes it a lot.. what with all the cuddling and sleepy head look!!

These 2 here didn't bring gifts as foretold and therefore they exchanged RM 50 with each other.. Come to think of it, that's actually quite good huh?? haha..
I'm not sure if you noticed (or whether the picture is clear enough to detect the similarities for that matter), but these 2 people have the similar hairstyle only difference being one had the fringe swept to the left side while the other to the right.. So I named them "twins".. =DOh, and these were the people who attended the gathering.. Where did all the 5s7 went u say? Well, sad to say, these were the only available ones to attend that day..

Oh and this was my driver for that day.. thank you Tze Yang!! If it wasn't for you, I might had a much troubled time with transportation.. haha.. thanks!!

情人桥

In English, it means Lover's Bridge.. I went there last week when I was on a trip to visit the new Morib Beach Resort.. The one that had hotels built right out into the sea and shaped like a palm tree if you view it from above..

Anyway, back to the title of this topic.. This place was actually introduced by the Ah Xian Ren Qing Wei before.. It's a romantic place where lovers would go and spent time together there.. Honestly, do you find the place really amusing?? I asked my mum why they'd spend their night out there and she said, " Last time, there were not much fun activities to do, so people came here on a date." I guess, she's right.. and this act has became a norm here that couples usually come?? haha.. my own opinion.. =D

Another Industrial Training Farewell

They say people come and go in your life, guess its really true.. I've been experiencing people walking in and out of my life for some time now.. And I thought I was getting used to it until, recently, these people finished their industrial training..

To be exact, they finished their training last Thursday.. As usual, we had a nice meal outside, and we took photos after that.. Honestly, when I left office that day, I thought, well.. That's that.. wonder will I ever meet them again..

On Monday, however, as I walked into PBT lab to start my freeze dryer, the whole place looked so empty and dead.. I felt like something was missing.. I dismissed that thought, turned on the freeze dryer and went downstairs to AC lab to check on my HPLC..

When I tagged myself into the lab, before opening the door, I half assumed that I would be greeted by the usual "hi", by David and "Morning", by Hong Leong.. Again, I dismissed that thought because I knew they were gone.. Yet, when I opened the door, to find the lab empty, again, I felt something was missing..

The next day, as I took out my samples from the freeze dryer, I knew that KC wouldn't be here to help me and chat with me through my task any more.. I knew that Sirn Sirn won't be there to offer a helping hand when I wash up the freeze dryer any more..

During lunch, I realise that I won't be able to chat with Yana any more.. I won't be able to tease her with KC any more and also not be able to tease her about her black stocking with her white shoes..

I miss you guys.. The help you've given me, the times you've listen to me nag about my problems, the times you made me feel like I could keep coming to work because I have friends there.. The laughs we had, the plans we had, the conversation we had, the "tea breaks" we had and so many more memorable things!!

In reality, the newer industrial trainees are also very helpful and nice to me.. But when you guys left, it made the place less than it used to be.. Guess that's life.. My conclusion? Appreciate everyone that comes into your life.. ^^

p/s: asma', steven and adam, if you read this, I missed you guys too.. so don't jealous yea?? =P

I'm done convincing

Its the third time I heard you utter those words.. About the projects I would be doing, IF I'd stay.. About whether or not I want to stay.. You made it sound like it was up to me, yet, when I said yea.. I'd love to.. You end up asking me a whole lot of questions, questioning my sincerity and my passion for it.. Each time I've tried my very best to convince you.. Each time you end up walking away, without and answer..

This is the third time you mentioned it to me again.. This is the third time you've acted as if it was MY choice.. All I did, was shrugged and waved your seemingly thoughtfulness away.. I'm done convincing you.. I'm done trying.. I don't care any more..

Can't go on..

I'm almost to my limit.. I don't know how much more can I take.. Every time I come to realise how dangerous it is and want to back off, I hang in there, in hopes that my future would be brighter, if I could just hang on another 6 months.. But what is there to this achievement? To getting a little known, for my work, if I might not be there to actually make use of it?

I don't want my health to be affected.. I would rather live a simple and happy life.. Yet I can't stand the thought of throwing my future away.. Of giving up a might have been opportunity.. On the other hand, I don't want it to affect my health.. I don't want to cause more harm to myself than I've already done.. Every time I find out something I did in the pass contributed to the detrimental effect of my health, I feel so low after that..

God, why is everything so hard? I want to give up but I can't.. I want to hold on.. And yet, I can't!!!

Headset Danger

I accidentally came across an article that proposed the fact that the regular headsets we have been using all these while to prevent Electromagnetic Radiations (EMR) or in lay man's term, radiation is actually not serving its supposedly purpose.. I was shocked at first to read about this piece of information and decided to do some article finding on it. The following is what I've found:

• The regular headsets that we use over long conversations, or while we are driving, or simply just listening to music in the subway or on the go, NOT only DOES NOT guarantee decrease health risk from EMR but might actually INCREASE it!

• EMR are usually emitted from the antenna of a mobile phone and placing them anywhere near your body parts will cause harm to those area. Take for instance, important blood producing tissues located at the pelvic bones are affected when mobile phones are placed in the pants pocket around the waist. Another example is, a lot of people tend to put their mobile phones in between their legs while they are driving. Studies shows that, this act could actually decrease the sperm count up to 30 %!

• It has also been found that headsets themselves serves as an antenna that directly channels these EMR right into your ear canal. This may actually raise the amount of radiation channelled directly into the head by more than 300 %!!

Knowing these facts, there are still ways to protect yourself from these radiations:

• It has been found that the further away the phone is being placed, even if its just 18 cm away from the body, decreases the radiation up to 70 %!

• If mobile phones have to be placed in your pocket, placed it with the key pad facing inside because, most mobile phone antenna's are placed at the back of the mobile phone.

• Instead of using the regular wired headset, get a air tube headset. It has the ability to reduce up to 98 % of the mobile phone radiation being transmitted.

Some supporting facts for what I've been saying so far:

• "The U.K. Department of Health decided not to endorse hands-free kits to cut radiation exposure. In its consumer brochure on Mobile Phones and Health, issued in 2000, the department waffled and told consumers that 'the level of effectiveness of hands-free kits to reduce SAR is still uncertain.'” (Microwave News, January/February 2002)

• "With regards the advice that hands-free kits be used, there are conflicting results. Some studies suggest that radiation exposure, if it exists, could actually be higher because the ear piece is closer to the brain... Advice on the use of hands-free kits is being revised and national guidelines are due to be published later this year." - Martin Whild, Assistant Information Officer for the National Radiological Protection Board which advises both the public and government on the risks of radiation. (Evening Times London, England April 30, 2004)

Last note,

If you actually even think that bluetooth headset is safer, you are most definitely wrong!! Reasons being:

• Instead of using a wire to transmit signals, bluetooth headset replaces the wire with a transmitter and receiver, operating with low power at a frequency level of between 900 MHz to 2.4 GHz.

Too bizarre an info to digest? Well, lets give an example to relate it then.. Microwave ovens operate at 2.4 GHz and the maximum frequencies for wireless products compliant with Bluetooth and 3G specifications are actually 2.5 GHz and 2.17 GHz, respectively.

Still feel sad you don't look cool cause you don't own a cool Bluetooth set? Think not.. =D

Just another weekend..

This time, I went to Mid Valley, the place where we always go to meet up when it comes to meeting up with lion, Tze Yang and Wei Ren.. Unfortunately though, this time, WR wasn't here with us.. =(

Had the lunch set.. which cost only 9.95++ which includes a main course and a bottomless drink..

I ordered Seafood Pasta while the other 3 ordered pizza.. all choosing a different flavour.. Wonder what's with them and pizza.. XD

This is one of the pizza they decided to choose, of the many pizza's.. I presume, from the picture, that this is pepparoni pizza.. XD I don't really remember who ate what though.. Well, except for Liang who ate Spicy dory fish pizza, which, to my opinion, doesn't taste spicy at all.. but still tasted quite good..

Just to show you guys the decorations in the restaurant.. It is actually located at Mid Valley, at the side alley where you get to walk over to Gardens..

After lunch, we went for a game of pool.. Played for about 2 hours and cost each of us RM9, there were 4 of us, this brings the total sum to.... you do the math ;)

On a last note, I seriously suck at pool.. XD

Things to do when u are bored at the lab..

Was waiting and waiting and waiting for my experiment to finish running one day last week to the extend I could not withstand the dreadful boredom any more and so I decided to do some photo taking..

I realised I've not taken a photo with my lab coat on, so I decided why not now? When I had all the time in the world sitting here waiting for my samples to run!!

And so, here goes..

*Evil Laughter* Looks really funny to me.. what do you think? He looks like he is peeking over to the other side to see a pretty girl or something.. But in actual fact, he was trying to measure the amount of solvent he wanted to use in a measuring cylinder!! XD

Forgive me, for my dullness..I was feeling rather ennui at that moment.. haha

Finally, a different location..

Have been going to 1u, 1u and 1u.. So this week we decided to go to The Curve.. Go Curve do what le?? Sing K and eat lor.. ngek ngek..

No karaoke pictures though.. I was too busy either singing, drinking or eating!! lol.. 2 people only mar.. what to do?? XD

After that, we went for some expensive snacking at Chocolate..

Berry Chocolate Cheese cake.. Nice to see..Kinda pricy too.. But beware!! don't buy it.. I personally don't think its worth it.. Its not cold although its from the fridge, there was no berry taste at all.. and the chocolate and cheese blended in such a way, I can't really taste anything.. hmmm..

Durian Egg Tarts?

To all you durian lovers..You've seen my blog promoting durian cheese cake from Secret recipe..

This yummy tasty cake that really taste like durian blended with cheese..makes your mouth water huh?? XD

Now you shall see durian egg tarts..

Yeap.. you saw it right.. Durian Egg tarts.. LOL.. they actually exist.. And, the taste is actually quite good.. Anyway, it taste better than that normal egg tart they sell on the left side.. which, by the way, sucks.. X(

Where to get this you ask? Well, you can get this at the lower ground floor at Tropicana City, nearby Carrefour.. Go check it out.. hehe..

Watching movie at Tropicana City

Last Saturday, we decided to head to One Utama to watch New Moon (better known as Twilight: Saga) which, by the way was out only the second day at that time.. Unfortunately, both cinemas (TGV &GSC) were fully packed with humans and it was just so obvious to us that we would never get tickets by the time we line up and get to the counter..

So Liang suggested we go to Tropicana City and give it a shot at getting the movie tickets since the place was new and less people actually visited that area..

Turns out he was right, and we did get tickets for the movie.. ^^

This was actually my first time at Tropicana City.. We bought the tickets and began food hunting for lunch!! haha.. Turns out, the number of shop lots and restaurants there were really limited!! After circling the shopping mall twice, we decided to eat here....

Igentis offers mainly chinese food and some western food..

And this here is Creamy Green Tea with pearl.. Now this, I must promote!! hehe.. I absolutely love the taste.. The creamy green tea was creamy enough, not too creamy and not to diluted.. I believe the green tea they used was Jasmine Green Tea based on the colour and fragrance.. And the pearl was chewy and soft at the same time!! hehe.. definitely not the disappointing rubbery pearls we so often get when we buy bubble tea..

Just another thing I'd like to share.. hehe.. We later bought a small popcorn for the movie.. And I never thought but it actually fits the compartment where we usually place our drinks.. And u know what else? I actually think a small popcorn is actually sufficient for a movie.. No point buying large and begging your friends to eat it halfway through the movie and then throwing the rest away later!! haha..

A day before Hari Raya Haji at work

One day before Hari Raya Haji, and guess what the office place look like?? You're right.. Everyone is on holiday, the office is practically 3/4 empty!! Which also means its a great thing cause we get to actually feel less stress at work for once.. haha..

Anyway, it was also Adam's and Steven's last day as industrial trainee here at SDTC, so we had a little photo session.. Before I introduce to you guys who are Steven and Adam, first let me introduce this guy standing next to me at the picture below..

2012

Life is boring.. I got practically nothing to blog.. nah.. Yesterday I went to 1u to watch 2012.. yes.. Finally I get to watch the long anticipated movie.. I cried a few times during the show.. Liang asked me why.. I told him because I was touched by the movie.. Haha.. Think about it, IF.. and I do mean IF.. This world is really about to end in year 2012.. It means we have four years left.. What do you plan to do? Spend all you money on things you like? Do things you've never done? Or go to places you've never been to?

For me, I just want to be with the people I care.. Be with whom I love.. I just want to pass each and every remaining day of my life with them.. Then, I suppose, I wouldn't have any regrets dying.. But then again, to be truthfully honest, I don't want to die.. I'm afraid of dying.. Haha.. Yea.. I am a chicken.. A scardy cat..But ask yourself truthfully, are you really so ready to die? Aren't you afraid of the pain? Aren't you sad of leaving people you love? Won't you regret about the things you have not been able to do?

I wouldn't suggest spending all your money or realising every idiotic fantasies you might have in mine because, what IF, by the year 2012, the world doesn't come to an end? What if you just end up waking up another day, and having to continue your life as per normal? Then you'd might end up saying.. Shit.. or wtf? or I'm soooo dead!! lol.. So.. To me, being able to be with the people I care and love would be most important to me..

Anyway, back to the movie.. I really enjoyed myself.. It was a fast pace movie with lots of actions and scenes.. Scientific facts and logical thinking are there.. So I guess you can't say its a bullshit movie.. Haha.. They even remember to show the scene of birds migrating while the country was sinking!! Not only that, they'd even remember to carry the animals to safety.. Which really reminds me of Noah's Ark.. And the fact that the rich has more chances of survival, like during the movie Titanic.. And also at the end of time, would you be the one that sits calmly and pray, or would you run and fight for your life as best you can? Also, would you spend time with the ones you love, to give them one last hug, to give them one last kiss or to simply say, I love you.. Or that I'm proud of you?

Well, life is short.. whether it end ins 2012, or whether it ends any later.. All is too short.. So once again, live life to the fullest!! Enjoy while you can.. but with a rational mind!! haha..
