One of the most "different" reason for applying leave

Every time I think of applying for leaves, is like either for going on vacation, or going on a church retreat.. But few days ago, my "heng dais" asked if I would like to go for a karaoke session on any of the weekdays.. Initially, "I thought, waaa.. weekdays wor.. need to work le.." But then again, they are friends that came all the way back from UK and HK.. And they want to meet up, I could actually apply for a leave. So I checked my schedule and applied for the earliest leave I could get, and off we went to Red Box..

So.. That's my reason for taking leave.. ROFL

Something different..

Its been awhile since I posted anything else rather than food.. So I guess today I'll talk about something else..

As you all know, I have tendered my resignation and in 2 weeks time I'll be officially a student again.. * wonders, is this a good or a bad thing?*

I am currently busy as hell working but at the same time enjoying every moment of if.. I seriously think I'm going to miss my job once I stop.. Gosh, its always when you don't have something that you want it so badly and always when you lose something that you realise how important it is to you isn't it?

Well, for the time being, I'm glad to be getting a student card again so that I can watch movie at a cheaper price, get a haircut for a cheaper price, sing k for a cheaper price and God knows what else..

On the other note, I'm net income is going to become NEGATIVE.. So I guess its save save save!! Sorry people, am going to become ms. Kiam Siap.. wahahaha..

Just to annoy those who are hungry and to make my blog more picture-filled.. here's more food pictures.. XD
Seafood spaghetti.. Looks nice huh? Wait till you see the next picture..
The portion for this dish was actually kind of pathetic.. I don't know why the portion size was so little.. Its either they are reducing cost or.. they accidentally gave less.. You pick..
Pepper corn spaghetti.. See the huge difference in the amount of spaghetti they gave? Best part was, both pictures were taken on the same day! I really think my opinion on they portion size reduction is due to some waiter/waitress "accidental" giving of less portion size..
This one here that looks almost identical with the picture above is curry spaghetti.. I'm beginning to feel that all their pasta look-a-like.. =.=
This here is sandwich panini.. Is it spelt that way?? I don't remember.. hmmm..

Dishes taste quite ok.. and price is reasonable.. Actually, I've posted about this restaurant before.. you can check it out here..

Belanga

Went to this Kelantanese restaurant to try out some dishes last week. For your information, Belanga is located at LG floor Gardens. I have passed by this shop numerous number of times but have never tried walking into it. Why? Because its Malaysian food! We can always eat it anytime, anywhere! Guess we people are like that, when we presume something is easily available, we never actually bother to try it..

Let me give you an example, how many of you that live in KL have ever visited KL Tower? What about Dataran Merdeka?

As for food, whenever you go to places like One Utama, or Mid Valley, how often would you opt for local food as compared to Japanese/Italian/Western food?

Anyway, back to Belanga..

This dish here is known as Fruit Teller, its actually the same as Ice Kacang only difference is that Fruit Teller has lots of fruits instead.. One of the fruit in it is jack fruit! Interesting huh?
Price is RM6.90
This cup of drink here is some mixture of coffee.. Sorry I can't remember the name.. When I first saw the picture of this drink in the menu, I actually thought those juicy round things were small little grapes!! Yea yea.. stop laughing at me.. Its actually "pearls".. You know, those pearls in pearl tea..
Price is RM7.90
I guess I won't have to tell you what this is.. Its Sago Gula Melaka.. A dessert that is rather famous in Malaysia.. Unfortunately though, I am seriously not a fan of coconut milk!! =S
Price is RM 3.20 (I think!)

Lemon Grass drink.. I believe, I don't have to explain the taste.. =D

And this.. This is Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik.. Looks tasty huh?? Well, that's because it is.. haha..

Overall, food was all right.. Worth a visit.. =D

Pasta Zanmai

For those that follow my blog, you'd notice that I've actually posted about Pasta Zanmai before in my previous enteries here, here and here.. But I have never actually named the post Pasta Zanmai before..

So just to make this a more complete post, I shall introduce Pasta Zanmai properly this time round.. =D

Pasta Zanmai is a Japanese pasta fusion kind of restaurant.. They combine pasta and cream with stuff like soft shell crab or smoked salmon.. Their combination really makes one mouth water..

Just some of the food I've tried from the past.. you can actually also view these pictures from those previous post links I placed on top.. My most favourite is the soft shell crab and the scallop pizza.. omg.. its bloody juicy and tasty!! Sorry, don't know any stronger words to describe my love for them.. haha

And this is the dish that I never fail to order each time I'm there.. God knows why.. I should learn how to order new food but each time I head there, the first dish that heads into my mind is this..

p/s: did you notice the difference between the two photo? The left one was taken a long time ago.. and the right one is the one I took recently.. My photo taking skills improve le?? Or did my photoshop skills improve?? hmmm..
One more delicious dish for you to see before I end this post.. If you notice, there's this big juicy egg yolk in the bowl waiting just to burst and spill all its yellow tasty liquid out.. My friend told me the egg yolk tasted kind of sweet and it went well when mixed with the spaghetti.. =D

Mix fruit juice.. and yes, about drinks, I always order this drink called milky green tea, and finally this time, I managed to pull myself away from my beloved milky green tea and tried this mix fruit juice instead.. All I can say is, not a bad choice.. hehe

I am currently freaking busy getting loads of work done before I leave Sime Darby and pursue my masters..
Have currently no life at all but work work work..
I think I sound like the peasant in the human campaign in Warcraft.. "work work.." "what is it?" "ok.."

Recently went to Old Town Kopitiam for lunch with a few colleagues after getting board of going to Garden Restaurant every other day..

Ordered Toast with Potato Curry (RM4.50) instead of the ordinary rice we eat daily..

The Potato curry.. I heard from my colleague that there is suppose to be chicken with the curry.. but where is it?? where is my chicken?? I don't see it wor.. @.@

And this yummy looking drink here is chocolate drink (RM 3.80).. nice le.. so full and satisfied after the meal.. hehe..

By the way, I heard that different branches produce different food quality.. From my and my colleague's experience, I believe that the one at Sungai Wang, Old Town as well as the one near Kelana Jaya is good.. other than that, I'm not so sure.. Do explore it on your own! =D

5 Advises for Interns

1. Do not.. I repeat.. DO NOT ask STUPID questions.. For example, when your supervisor passes you a empty cylinder and a bottle of Hexane and ask you to pour 140 mL of Hexane, DO NOT ask, " which one pour to which one?"
2. Don't be lazy. If you are free, ask if there's anything you can help out with.
3. If you have terrible memory, write down what you are told to do before you forget it.
4. Ask if you do not understand, but do not ask retarded questions that you yourself know the answer to. Trust me when I say there are people who do that.
5.  Don't try to stuck up to your supervisor. Its annoyingly obvious and it gets you no where.

Few things to share with you all..

1. I finally changed my blog template lo.. =D although, this isn't what I initially created, but it'll do for now..
2. I bought a blouse few days ago that my sis commented " omg wei!! when did your taste become so old?!" And when I wore it today, Liang said, "ehhh, your blouse is pretty wor.." made a right decision to buy it.. =D
3. Did quite a lot of house work today.. Feeling quite proud of myself le.. *some support lai* =P

Thats all lo.. Hmmm.. Long time didn't go for nice food liao.. no mouth watering pictures to post.. next one okie?? =D

Updates

Sorry for being gone for these couple of days.. I was particularly busy with transition.. I have finally decided to quit my job and am going back to doing Masters.. It wasn't a easy decision.. But as some of my advisors said, "If your aim is to further your studies, then don't waste the opportunity.."

I hope I made the right decision.. only time will tell..

Gimme Food on Flights

Was begging for something to blog and when I headed to Facebook, I saw a topic for today's project alpha instant cash blogging!!

Oklar.. Don't complain about me advertising ok?? I haven't done so for like 2 weeks.. So this week I do one yea? =D

Anyway, as this topic goes, I should be telling about the food I would love to eat while I'm on a plane.. After some thought about it, I decided to go for Nasi Lemak Daging Rendang!!

Why? For one, I'd love to have one last taste of Malaysia's famous dish before having a few days away from the food heaven land (Malaysia).. I'd like to savior the taste of the ever so yummy and fattening "fat" rice and also enjoy the spicy daging rendang that I always long for when opting for nasi lemak..

Besides that, nasi lemak is easily packed.. It would be best to serve nasi lemaks on flights.. =D

Another important factor is the ability of nasi lemak to keep one's stomach full for a long time.. *must be due to all those "fat" rice..* XD

And the most important factor of all is that, if flights serves these ever so delicious nasi lemaks, foreigners would get a chance to try them.. That would help publicize Malaysian food to people that takes Mas Airlines.. hehe.. isn't that like killing 2 birds with 1 stone?? =P
