What should I do?

There's this problem I have, that I want so badly to blog about, or at least share with someone who can give me a good advice but I can't. All I can say is this, I don't know what I'm dealing with is destiny or is it God's sign of telling me what I should do. I know my dreams were not all these. I know specifically what I want. And yet, at the same time I strive for the things I don't want. I prove myself capable of it, just in order to get it. And now that I finally do, and I'm sort of stuck to it, I begin to worry again. Did I make the wrong decision? Is this really how my future should be? Should I just drop everything and forget about all the time I've tried so hard to earn what I finally got. I know deep down inside that I don't want this but I also know deep down inside that I have a high chance of not getting what I truly want. What should I do?

If only God could show me the way, lead me through this. If only I had clearer signs. If only I knew exactly what I should do.

Random thoughts

Few things on my mind right now..

  1. Blog blog blog.. what to blog?? (symptom of writer's block?)
  2. I still prefer studying life over working life.. Those of you out there that are still studying, do enjoy while you still have that opportunity.
  3. I really should start that weight lost programme I had in mind
  4. I seriously need to get a memory card reader
  5. Is tomorrow's dinner outing still on?
  6. My pictures are stuck in my camera with no way of transferring it to my laptop!!!
Good night people.. Time to sleep..

I miss the old times..

Remember the time when we were bored at lecture?

Remember the time we decided to do something funny??

Remember the time we tried acting cool, or just wanted to have a little fun?

Remember the funny poses that we actually thought of and actually did and took a photo in public?

Remember when we'd done cooking together or simply just ate together?

Remember the fun we had together?

Time comes and goes as we grow up.. Silly photos that we took when we were younger and thought it either look cool or fun, and now, when we look back we think, "how could I have done something so humiliating and funny? How could I have been so.. omg!!"

I miss those days, when we did both the funny and silly stuff.. I miss those days when we spend our times together.. Thank God there were photos for me to keep the memory alive, for me to relive those moments.. I miss you people!!

That's IF my nose stops leaking and my mouth can stop spraying saliva all over the place.. If you think this post is disgusting then too bad for you.. I'm too sick to bother..

1u versus OU?

I remembered a conversation I had a long time ago with a good friend of mine on her usage of acronyms. When I first knew her, she loved calling places short form. I first found out about this habit of her's when I first heard her talking about SP. After awhile I asked her, where is SP? and she told me, "Sunway Pyramid". I was like, "oh, I see".

That wasn't the end of it. We had JJ (which meant Jaya Jusco), and MV (which meant Mid Valley), we had friends name cut short to RX (for RuXuan) and GC (for Geok Cheng) and if that wasn't enough, we had all our subjects becoming alphabets like, MB (for Molecular Biology), GB (for genomic and bioinformatics), the list goes on. Its not like I'm complaining, its sometimes quite convenient to use acronyms.

But then I found out she tried to cut short a name of a shopping complex that already have been shorten. I'm talking about One Utama, which in short is called 1u.Anyway, back to my story, one fine day, she was talking to me and she mentioned about this place called OU. As soon as she mentioned it I searched my mind for a place called OU in Kuala Lumpur and guess what? I couldn't recall any until finally I thought, "omg, OU means One Utama!"

I rolled my eyes, and asked her, "why do you have to call 1u OU?" She said, "well, its shorter that way. Save speech time". I told her, "Isn't 1u short enough?" She said, "nope, OU has only 2 alphabets". I said, "what's the difference? 1u has 1 number and 1 alphabet, and plus, its 2 syllabus, same as OU". She said, "oh.. yea.." and laughs.

Why am I telling this old story? Well, because today at work, I overheard a conversation among 2 colleagues. One said, " I'm asked to go to KLCC or Pavillion but I don't know how." The other said, "Pavillion is quite near KLCC". And the first one said, " I'm not firmiliar with that area. I only know how to get to Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid, The Curve and OU".

What the... And I thought only my dear dear friend would have that sense of humour!

Turn Out at Kenny Roger's for it's Offer

As you can see, the atmosphere was filled with red stuff.. I actually got something red to go.. but then decided against it when I saw the long queue and instead turn to Mc Donalds.. Upon arrival, I saw quite a number of red shirts.. I suppose they made the same decision with me (not to eat at Kenny Roger's and come over to Mc Donalds instead).

Tuesday 12 January 2010

A bowl versus a plate/a cone of ice-cream

I remember in one of the Chinese New Year celebration, my elder cousin brother brought home his girlfriend to meet the family member for the first time. I thought at first, that she looked quite alright (and I still do) with a rather slim body.

While I was minding my own business eating some baked cookies, my younger cousin brother walked up to me and ask me this, "what do you think about my elder brother's girlfriend?" I said, "well, she looks like a nice girl, quite pretty too." And he said, "I don't know what you think, but don't you think her face is rather big?" I told him, "Well, I didn't notice because frankly speaking, I think I have a big face as well."

And he said, "It's different. You have a face of a bowl and she has a face of a plate."

I repeated this story to a friend of mine some time later and guess what that friend of mine said? He said, "I'm more likely to have a face that looked like an ice-cream placed on an ice-cream cone."

Why, you ask? Because unlike a bowl, I have a rather sharp chin.. Great!

Avatar - A big hoo haa?

I finally watched the largely anticipated movie Avatar recently and to my greatest disappointment, it never lived up to my expectations.

Yes, fair enough the movie really had a nice fantasy world to it, a very pretty one too.. But the story plot felt like a copy from movies.

First of, the whole story about the Jake that entered this fantasy world and got to know the way of their living style and came to fall in love with a native and changes his perception from trying to get the natives out of their land, to getting his own people to stop chasing the natives away somewhat mirrors the story of Pocahontas.

Secondly, the part where Jake tried to get his bird reminds me a hell lot about Harry Potter at the time where Harry bowed to the hippogriff and tried to get it to allow him to ride on it (In Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.

All in all, the movie wasn't that great.. It's creativity in creating the fantasy world and also the visual effects are to be applaused, but other than that, it is just another movie.

I totally lack self control

Right after lunch, my supervisor decided to ask me do some literature search on a method we were using. I headed straight to Google and started keying all sorts of keywords I thought could lead to the information I wanted. But before long, I started nodding my head off to sleep (I always fall asleep when I read journals. I came to believe that reading journal is probably one of the best way to cure insomnia). I tried to shake myself awake (wouldn't work), tried to wash my hands with cold water (didn't work either), went to the ladies (and still it didn't work).

A thought crept into my head, a cup of coffee or tea would do. All I need is some caffeine in my bloodstream. But then a soft voice inside my head said, "don't drink any of those. No more sweet drinks remember?" I tried hard to stay awake. Until in the end, I thought, hack the "no more sweet drink rule of mine". I need the caffeine. And off I went to the pantry, choose white coffee out of the 7 choices there is and sipped happily at it while reading the journals. My will power to lose weight? Gone..

Should I blame my job? Hell yea! =D

An Ordinary Sunday Mass with a Evil Thought

Because I can't bare to not share this bit of gossip about myself, I've decided to not post pictures for this post and tell u something that happened at church today..

Well, first off, let me brief u through some stuff at church.. I'm a Catholic.. And during mass on Sunday, we go through several "events".. There is a total of three readings in a mass, 2 done by church goers and 1 done by the priest himself.. Readings which are extracted from the bible..

Enough said about that, lets get into the story.. Today, right after the third reading done by the priest, me and my siblings sat back down on our sits (which is usually done) however, today, the priest had a little prayer to do and the projector displayed the following words: Please Remain Standing. As we sat down, we noticed those words and upon getting our butts of the sit, this annoying lady sitting behind decided to act like a nosy fly and said with the most irritating tune ever, " Pleeeeeaseeeee remmmaaaaiiinnnnn STANDING!!"

All three of us got up, with this irritated look plastered across our faces.. Just because we got a chance to rest our butts and u didn't, it doesn't give u the rights to be nosy.. =P

We ignored her, and continued through with the mass procession.. Oh, another thing about mass is that, at one part of the mass, we were to give peace to our neighbouring sitters, which means we usually bow, hug or shake hands with them and say, "peace be with you". Why I'm telling you this is because, when that part of the ceremony was about to be conducted, a sudden evil and childish idea came across my mind, and I told both my siblings to ignore her during this session of the mass.. All had an evil grin plastered on the face..

When the session came, we bowed and said our peace to each neighbouring person and deliberately ignoring little Ms Nossy.. While I was bowing to the lady next to her, I saw from the corner of my eyes that she was looking at me, with this cheeky smile of her's, getting ready for me to bow at her.. But as I was turning to her to supposedly bow to her, she bowed at me and I turned my back to her and bowed to the people in front of me.. After that session, all of us were smirking..

Mission accomplished.. =D

I know I'm childish, and some of you might say I've sinned.. But you know what? Who cares?! XD

Morib Beach 1 day visit..

A walk on the beach..
I will be uploading some of my trip pictures for your viewing for these coming few post.. so not much words from me..if you would like to know more about the place, do leave me a comment.. ^^
